MAB Corporation (MAB) is a privately owned property development company that has been successfully operating since 1995. With over $2 billion in projects MAB generates approximately $300 million in annual sales, has net assets approaching $200 million and employs almost 100 people.
Established and owned by fifth generation Melbourne property identities, Michael and Andrew Buxton, MAB has activities in residential, retail, industrial, commercial developments and a funds management business with approximately $250 million under management.

Michael Buxton, Founder
Michael has over 40 years of experience in the property industry that commenced with property management and sales in his family's business, JR Buxton Pty Ltd. In 1976, Michael co-founded Becton Corporation and as Joint Managing Director built the company into one of the most successful property investment and development companies in Melbourne. At the end of 1994, Michael sold his interest in Becton Corporation and in 1995 founded MAB Corporation with his brother Andrew. Michael is Executive Director of MAB Corporation.
Andrew Buxton, Founder
Andrew began his career in the quarry and asphalt industry. From 1974 to 1988 Andrew was Co-Managing Director of the Associated Quarries and Asphalts Group. Andrew diversified into property development and in 1995 founded MAB Corporation with Michael Buxton. He has over 20 years experience in the property industry and is also the Managing Director of MAB Corporation.
Simon Jones, Chairman of the Board
Simon is a chartered accountant and investment banker. He was Managing Partner of Arthur Andersen’s audit, business advisory and corporate finance practices for Australasia between 1991 and 1995. Between 1995 and 2002 Simon was Managing Director of NM Rothschild’s private Equity business and of the Victorian operations. In 2002 Simon founded Canterbury Partners, a boutique investment bank. He is a director also of Computershare Limited and Melbourne IT Ltd.
David Hall Member of the Board & Chief Operating Officer
David commenced with MAB in 2003 in the role of General Manager Business Parks and was responsible for a portfolio of industrial and mixed-use projects including National and Translink Business Parks and University Hill. More recently David has been responsible for the Major Projects division with a key focus on the planning and delivery of Merrifield, MAB's 1,500 hectare mixed-use development.
Prior to commencing with MAB, David held a number of executive positions in middle ring and growth area local governments in the areas of property, planning and development, economic development and governance. David holds a Bachelor of Business and a Graduate Diploma in Management.
He is a member of the Urban Development Institute of Australia and the Victorian Planning and Environmental Law Association, and is a Board member of North East Housing Incorporation.

Ian Smith, Board Member and Chief Financial Officer
Ian is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of senior management experience in a variety of public and private multi-national and domestic industries. Ian's specialises in property development and related service companies. His experience has extended to private prison management and ownership, self storage, information technology (I.T) and power station construction. Ian's work experience has predominately been with successful high growth companies.
Dr. Vince FitzGerald, Board Member
Vince is Chairman of The Allen Consulting Group, which advises on economics, public policy and regulation. Before joining that firm in 1989 he was a government official in Canberra, in Treasury, Prime Minister and Cabinet, Finance, Trade, and Employment, Education & Training (heading the last two). He is a well known commentator on economic policy issues. For ten years to 2004, Vince was a Director of ING Australia Holdings Ltd. He is a Non-Executive Director of ETF Securities, Gold Bullion Securities and Oil Securities Ltd, based in Jersey. He sits on the governing boards of Melbourne Grammar School, the National Gallery of Victoria and ANU, and is President of the Australian Services Roundtable.
