The Planning Permit for the fourth office building within NewQuay's commercial precinct HQ NewQuay on Docklands Drive has been approved this week.

To be developed by MAB Corporation, 395 Docklands Drive is the newest addition to the changing landscape of NewQuay's commercial precinct.

MAB Corporation's General Manager Commercial Industrial, Philip Soumilas says, "approval of the Planning Permit will enable MAB to meet the current demand for waterfront office space and provide solutions well into the future."

"With both 370 and 380 Docklands Drive predominately pre-committed by major organisations the 395 development is definitely timely," says Mr Soumilas.

Completion of HQ NewQuay will accommodate up to 5,000 employees in one of the most enviable business environments in Melbourne.

Located next to MAB's existing Aquavista Tower, 395 Docklands Drive will incorporate:
• 4.5 Star Australian Building Greenhouse Rating and 4 Star Green Star Rating
• External elements representing the Docklands wharf and marina
• Floor plates measuring between 2,100 to 2,300 sqm
• Double height atriums enabling natural light throughout the building
• 14 storeys including above ground car parking
• Bold, striking architecture designed by Hassell

Complemented by NewQuay's already established retail offering along the waterfront, the commercial aspect of HQ NewQuay will incorporate:
• 370 Docklands Drive - to be completed in May and understood to be pre-committed
• 380 Docklands Drive - construction to commence soon for an un-disclosed tenant who will occupy the majority of the14,000 sqm and will have up to 800 staff
• 395 Docklands Drive - Planning Permit issued
• Aquavista, 401 Docklands Drive - Complete

HQ NewQuay will also benefit from the new tram route opening up in early July, along with the City Circle tram earmarked for extension down Docklands Drive.
